At the party for their first wedding anniversary, Siena collapses face-first onto the red carpet, gasping for air. Her husband, Carlo Pipino, stands with his arm around Gianna Verde, his childhood flame, while Siena's throat locks and hives spread across her skin. Gianna knew about the nut allergy, and Carlo has swapped her allergy medication for melted candy. When Siena begs for help, Carlo calls her dramatic, and Gianna mocks her from the floor.

Siena reaches for her real family instead, but Carlo spots the signal, hurls her phone out the penthouse window, and warns her that traitors do not survive. Gianna slaps her, makes her crawl for a bottle of pills, then tips them into whiskey and grinds Siena's last spare pill under her heel. The crowd laughs and bets on how long the performance will last.

As Siena's lungs close, Gianna reveals the truth: she wants the Suvari empire, and a dead daughter means a grieving widower and a wedding. With minutes left, Siena screams for help, but Carlo only sees another embarrassment.
