From the back cover

A month after bringing home Silas, a succubus custom-built to her exact tastes, a wealthy young woman finds him cold and untouchable. He refuses her touch, grows weak and feverish, and customer service insists such a defect has never occurred, offering to scrap him and build a replacement within a week. She hesitates, unwilling to discard a creation she waited a year for.

At a family dinner, Silas shows an unmistakable reaction to her step-sister Summer, the same girl who opened his crate on delivery day. He defends Summer against her, and she begins to suspect the bond she paid for has gone wrong.

As Silas weakens and still recoils from her hand, she must decide whether to keep a succubus who hungers for someone else.

Inside the book Opening excerpt

"My customized succubus has been with me for a month, and he won’t let me touch him. What’s going on?"

I frowned as I typed the message to customer service. The representative was perfectly polite.

"Oh, sweetie, the succubi in our shop are usually practically begging to glue themselves to their owners. This sounds like a defect! We can absolutely process an exchange for you. A new model will arrive in about a week."
