Audrey's fiancé Felix Morgan lets his secretary Claire dictate their lives through tarot readings. Claire throws water in Audrey's face, cancels the couple's anniversary and pre-wedding shoot, and Felix always sides with her, insisting Claire is dedicated and acts for his career.
When Audrey learns she is pregnant, Claire calls the baby unlucky. Felix tells her to end the pregnancy, and even after Audrey warns that terminating it may leave her unable to conceive again, he agrees to a rushed abortion. Claire claims a woman who has just had a termination brings bad luck, so Felix stays away, leaving Audrey alone with her secret.
Determined to keep her child and find the family she never had, Audrey plans to leave once the high-risk month passes. Then Felix and Claire arrive to "clean" the house by tarot, and a crystal jar Felix once gave her lies shattered on the floor.
