High Temperature Apocalypse: Unveiling the Masks of Family Members

From the back cover

On the second day of a deadly heatwave, Cecilia moves her pregnant niece Cynthia Taylor into the narrator's home, and the family turns on her. Her husband Jaxon Wells and his relatives beat her and force her into the scorching sun to find food, and she dies at her own door, learning too late that Cynthia is Jaxon's mistress and that the whole family used her to care for the pregnancy.

She wakes again to find Cecilia and Cynthia occupying her bedroom, her belongings thrown on the floor. It is the fifth day after her abortion, and Jaxon, once penniless, now shields his mistress while his family scolds her. Remembering how they drained her health and savings, she quietly gathers her documents and bank card and leaves.

She rents a villa with a basement, orders solar panels, water, freezers and a year of food, and buys protective gear and weapons, preparing for the heat that will soon reach nearly 140 degrees Fahrenheit. This time she will take her revenge while enjoying air conditioning and a good meal.
