On the night of their rehearsal dinner, Luna waits outside the restaurant until midnight. Ethan never arrives. Instead she sees a wedding photo posted by Chloe, his first love, and when Ethan finally calls, he is furious, insisting the marriage is only a paper arrangement so Chloe's daughter can get citizenship and health insurance. In the background, a little girl calls him Daddy Ethan.

Luna hides her positive pregnancy test, calls off the wedding, and tells her parents to go home. When Ethan returns, he brings red roses, forgetting her severe pollen allergy, and his collar bears a lipstick stain. A pink sticker on the dashboard reads Reserved for Princess Chloe. Then Chloe calls about Lily's fever, and Ethan leaves Luna, who cannot drive, to get herself to the hospital.

The next morning he brings Lily home and orders Luna to make her breakfast, braiding the girl's hair with a tenderness he never showed Luna. When Luna says they should break up, Ethan calls her selfish and heartless, telling her she would be a terrible mother, even as she carries his child.

It was a wedding photo. Her caption read: “Mr. Miller, thank you for stepping into my life. Here's to forever.”

In the photo, they both smiled with pure happiness. I couldn't help but leave a comment underneath: “Are you kidding me?”

A few minutes later, Ethan, who had been unreachable all night, finally called me. He didn't even apologize. He just started yelling.

“She and her daughter just got back to the country. They have no one else! They are completely helpless, Luna. Do you really have to pick a fight right now?”
