From the back cover
At the company year-end party, everyone receives joke scratch cards showing a fake hundred-million win. Margaret Callahan never scratches hers, but her husband Bryce Hoover finds it and believes he is now a billionaire. His mother, Tabitha Hoover, urges him to divorce Margaret at once, and he agrees without hesitation, claiming the card belongs to whoever holds it.
When Margaret reveals she is pregnant, Tabitha questions whether the child is Bryce's, and Bryce demands she end the pregnancy. Her best friend Edith Meyers rushes in and throws herself into Bryce's arms, and he admits he shared the news with her first. Margaret agrees to the divorce and the procedure, taking only the house, while Bryce signs quickly, afraid she will change her mind.
What Bryce and Tabitha do not know is that the scratch card is worthless, and that Margaret's company has made her general manager with a share of its stock.
Inside the book Opening excerpt
At the company’s year-end party, joke scratch cards were handed out to everyone, each showing a fake win of one hundred million.
Finding it pointless, I didn’t even scratch mine and simply brought it home.
After finishing my shower, I came out and noticed the card was gone, my husband’s face glowing with excitement.
I was just about to explain that the scratch card wasn’t real.
The next moment, my mother-in-law barged in. “Son, divorce her right now!
