On the day before the college entrance examination, Sergio wakes to find himself reborn into the moment before his previous ruin. In his last life, he stopped Kaea from spending her eighteenth birthday with Levon Marville, and she still reached Saint Andrews University while Levon was jailed. Kaea then lured Sergio to her home, filmed him, and reported him; his parents took their own lives after being exposed online, and she showed him the video in prison until his heart gave out.

Now Kaea mocks him in front of her friends and threatens to keep his admission pass so he cannot report her to her parents. When he tries to take it back, she tears it in half, and the promise they once shared of studying together at Saint Andrews University lies in pieces.

Sergio throws the torn pass away and knocks on the homeroom teacher's door, asking about the recommendation to Hemsford University instead.
