Killed by My Husband

From the back cover

In her first life, Krista dies in childbirth after her husband Andre Holt refuses, again and again, to sign for the cesarean section that would save her and her baby. Seven critical notices are issued; doctors, nurses and even the police beg him, but he sits silent, and both mother and child are lost. Her soul lingers to watch him collect hospital compensation and a large insurance payout, then bring home a woman named Jenifer Hammond and her two children, all of whom call him daddy.

Reborn into her own body early in that same pregnancy, Krista wakes to Andre holding out a bowl of chicken soup his mother insists will nourish the baby. Remembering how the family fed her high-fat, high-sugar food to force a cesarean, she refuses the soup and makes him drink it instead. When her mother-in-law sends more, Krista secretly takes a sample to a testing center.

The results reveal heavy doses of hormones meant to make her gain weight and risk harming her unborn child. Keeping the report hidden, Krista returns home with a calm face, her hatred quietly turning toward revenge.
