After Ginny Fontaine-Beckett gives birth, she has more milk than her own daughter can handle, so she begins nursing the son of her best friend, Hannah Albright, who barely produces any. Hannah practically moves in, her husband Alex Stafford comes and goes, and Easton starts to feel like a guest in his own home. When he buys formula, Ginny cries that he doesn't care about her pain.

Six months after the nursing stops, Easton tells Ginny he wants a divorce. She protests that she was only in pain and that the baby is just a baby; her mother Deonna Fontaine accuses him of being ungrateful and petty, while Hannah and Alex insist he is throwing away his marriage over nothing. Neighbors and relatives gather to condemn him, and his own father threatens to disown him.

Easton gives Ginny one chance to explain why she nursed Hannah's child, and a flash of panic crosses her face before she repeats her old answer.
