She Wasted Our Love, I Lost My Love

From the back cover

A man married to Freya, a woman of vast wealth, has long dreamed of divorce. When his mother falls gravely ill, he rushes home so she can see Freya one last time, only to find Freya in their bed with her first love. He says nothing, buries his mother alone, and after the funeral calls Freya to ask for a divorce. The man who answers is her first love, Alfred, who mocks him and says she is asleep.

Days later Freya returns from a business trip, expecting him to fetch her pajamas as always. He asks when they will divorce; she dismisses it, calling Alfred merely her assistant and insisting nothing happened. She suggests visiting his mother in the hospital and mentions a clinic in Dracopolis, and he finally tells her his mother is dead. Freya claims she never knew, then puts on the cartoon-print pajamas he once liked and apologizes.

He remembers how they met in high school, rivals as class president and vice, pushing each other to study harder until she confessed to him at university.
