In a remote village, a young woman named Annabelle Anderson is held captive by the Miller family, forced into marriage and abused by her husband Frank and his mother. Her daughter grows up blamed for every beating, told she is the reason her mother never escaped.

One day the daughter finds a mirror that reflects not herself but a younger Annabelle, trapped in 2005 while the daughter lives in 2020. Speaking across the years, the daughter vows to free her mother this time, and learns from her grandmother how Annabelle was caught before. She passes the warning through the mirror, but the next morning Annabelle is still there, bruised and scarred, and the escape has failed.

As Annabelle's anger falls on her daughter, the girl hides her true identity and searches for another way to break the chains that bind them both.
